Tis is the winner of the logo contest for the Erasmus+ Ka229 Project "Message Is Got", which is carried out by Latvia, Turkey, Portugal, Italy and Poland, and aims to increase the digital literacy among the youngsters.
The proceedings started with the introduction and welcoming speech by the headmaster of Primary School No. 6 in Kołobrzeg, Andrzej Haraj to all project participants. This was followed by a presentation by our local students of Primary School No. 6 with facts, stories and information concerning Poland, and especially our city – Kołobrzeg – and our school. This was followed by presentations by the students from Turkey, Italy, Portugal and Latvia regarding their respective countries, cities and schools.
We gave our guests a tour of the school, classrooms and the gym. And there was an opportunity to participate in our lessons and discussions. Teachers and parents had prepared traditional dishes to introduce Polish cuisine and highlight culinary differences. To present and promote our project, we visited the mayor of Kolobrzeg in the town hall. During the meeting with her, we presented the goals and aspirations of our project.
During classes at the school, students prepared posters with positive digital footprints and watched the film "What is digital citizenship". This was followed by group discussions on video content and podcasts on their digital rights and how to stay within the relevant laws. Workshops were held on creating and sharing content on social media on various social platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube), the students were explained how to choose which platform to publish info onto, and most importantly what the consequences could be for wrong or otherwise posts and how to create a positive image on the Internet.
Teachers during this period attended workshops on "The best ways of gamification", which explained in detail how to provide students with opportunities to reflect on their media activities and how to live wisely within social media. It was not all classroom activities and we proudly gave our guests a tour of our home city - Kołobrzeg, a popular SPA resort, and then took a bus tour to Sopot and Gdańsk, both very famous and historical cities in Poland.
We detailed the project activities at the school and created the LTTA guide (set of exercises and methods). Other activities involved the visit to a local high school, where we were taught 3D printing and even shown and took part in a film studio. Sharing the traditions related to Christmas, we invited our guests to decorate gingerbread biscuits and sing Christmas carols together. The visit concluded with the presentation of certificates and a cake with the project logo.

During their stay, we gave the students the opportunity to reflect on their own and other people's behaviour on social media and how to use social media wisely, kindly and safely. Students developed more participatory social media strategies for school education tailored to their needs. This has created a good image of our schools in the local community, ensuring local authorities' awareness of our project and aspirations.
